How common is Erectile Dysfunction?

Erectile Dysfunction is considered common, with approximately 52% of men experiencing some form of Erectile Dysfunction. The risk increases with age although it is still possible for younger men to experience symptoms of Erectile Dysfunction.

What is Sildenafil (Viagra)?

Sildenafil is used for treatment of Erectile Dysfunction (male impotence) and it belongs to a group of medications which are called phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors. Sildenafil works by helping to achieve and maintain an erection sufficient to engage in sexual activity by allowing a greater blood flow into the penis when a man is sexually aroused. It does not increase sexual desire and works in harmony with sexual stimulation.

What is Viagra?

Viagra is a brand name for the generic medication Sildenafil. At QuickDoc we offer both Sildenafil and Viagra. The medications contain the same active ingredients and have the same medical effect. There is usually a price difference between the two.

What is the dose of Sildenafil (Viagra)?

The usual dose that our Doctors recommend is 50mg to be taken when required, approximately 30 to 60 minutes before sexual activity. Based on the effectiveness of the medication, the dose can also be increased to 100mg.

The maximum recommended dose is 100mg and it is not recommended to exceed this dose per day. Sildenafil can be taken safely with or without food, but if taken alongside a fatty meal it may increase the time Sildenafil takes to work.

Medication dose can be affected by a combination of factors, if our QuickDoc team has prescribed you a different dose to the ones listed here, make sure you take it exactly as prescribed. Ensure you store Sildenafil in its original packaging at room temperature and keep out of reach of children.
